ABOUT THE EVENT
This is the second workshop in the series about introductory small business financial management principles. Money is the universal language of business. Regardless of what type of business you are in, success or failure is a function of how well you manage your money. Yet, not everyone, including small business owners, have strong money management skills and capabilities. If your financial acumen is lacking, and if you are or have aspirations to become a small business owner, then this free workshop is for you! A business is essentially a money clearinghouse; money is constantly flowing in and out of the business. Business owner are responsible for not only keeping track of every dollar that comes in and goes out of the business, but they must also make prudent decisions about how money is sourced, spent, and invested for future growth. Almost every decision that a small business owner makes has a potential financial implication, which is why it is essential that business owners be financially savvy. In this workshop, your knowledge and understanding of general small business money management principles will be expanded. Specifically, we will introduce the key financial management responsibilities of small business owners, including: Pricing your product / service Staffing and payroll issues Taxes and regulatory responsibilities Managing accounts payable and receivables Safeguarding against theft and fraud
